Kru Beginnings
Our story begins with Thomas Nimely Worjroh Sr., a native Kru man, a part of our family, and inspiration behind everything at Kru Food Kitchen + Market Inc.Check Out Our Sauces
Thomas lived in Caldwell, Liberia, West Africa, and throughout his life, he ran 75 acres of farmland that provided food for the local area, jobs, and education opportunities. Thomas fed his own family healthy, delicious, and sustainably-grown food - we’ll never forget the amazing taste.
Kru Food Kitchen + Market was born in 2022 to continue the legacy of Thomas, by bridging farms and markets and always remaining connected to the land and the incredible taste that we strive to match.
Kru is now known for our plant-based pepper sauces, with every bottle packed full of vegetables and spices that can be used while cooking, as a marinade, or even a delicious dip.

The Founder’s Touch

In May 2021, Wendell and his family took a trip back to West Africa to visit the family’s farm. This would be the first trip back in 38 years after leaving his homeland for a better life in America.
After meeting his grandfather’s last living sibling, he was amazed by the personal significance of the farm and the history of the Kru people. Wendell was inspired to create something that encapsulated his own passions, alongside honoring his heritage.
And so, Kru Food KItchen + Market came to be. Wendell’s passion for community, humanity, and environment is the driving force behind everything he does and he’s excited to champion Kru Food Kitchen + Market as a CONSCIOUS business.
