At KRU Food, artful cooking is the preparation and combination of blending different worlds together to make magic! In our Spicy Spaghetti sauce, we add sauce on sauces, to create a very special unique delicious flavor. In this recipe, we combine the KRU Hot pepper sauce with spices and a hint of honey, garnished with cilantro and served with farro spaghetti pasta.
Ingredients:
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely (chopped)
1 red bell peppers (chopped)
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon chives
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon KRU sauce (Hot)
1 teaspoon honey (optional, to balance acidity)
Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir well.
Add the dried basil, dried oregano, salt, KRU Sauce, black pepper, and chives
Stir the sauce, bring it to a gentle simmer, then add honey and reduce the heat to low.
Let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed.
If you want a smoother consistency, you can use an immersion blender to blend the sauce to your desired texture.
Once the sauce is ready, serve it over cooked spaghetti (Farro spaghetti pasta) or your favorite pasta.
Garnish with chopped fresh Cilantro or parsley before serving.
